2lb stewing steak.
2 bay leaves
250ml red wine
100 ml Olive oil and 1-2 tbsp for frying.
2 cloves garlic
3 cinnamon sticks
1 large tomato chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Peel onions, chop and fry lightly, remove from pan.
Fry meat until slightly brown.
Return onions to pan with all other ingredients and enough water to cover meat.
Cook low heat 150c for 2-3 hours.
When ready the liquid will be almost completely absorbed.
Add more water during cooking time if necessary.
Taste after 2 hours and adjust seasoning to taste.
Garnish with parsley or oregano before serving.
Serve with roast or mash potato
