Herby Meat Pittas

Serves: 6 PrepTime: 20mins CookTime: 1.5 hrs

INGREDIENTS

8 oz lean minced beef.
8 oz lean minced pork.
1 egg.
2 Tbsp tomato relish (See below)
1/2tbsp Worcester sauce.
1 tbsp fresh chopped mint.
1 tbsp chopped parsley.
2 oz fresh brown bread crumbs.
Pitta breads.

RELISH:
1 tin of chopped tomato
1 onion finely chopped.
1 teaspoon mixed herbs.
1 teaspoon Oregano
1 clove garlic (or paste) if liked.
1/2 red pepper chopped finely.
1/2 green pepper chopped finely.
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp Worcester sauce.


METHOD

1 -Place all meats in a bowl and knead with hands until blended.

Work all ingredients with plenty of black pepper.

2 - Press into lined 2lb loaf tin. Bake 180c for 1 hour.

3 - Allow to rest in tin for 10 minutes.

4 - serve loaf sliced in warm pittas stuffed with shredded salad.

RELISH:

Put all of the ingredients in a pan and bring to boil, simmer until thick and reduced
